The Mac rumor mill has been buzzing for days. What would Steve Jobs announce today? A new magic iPod that plays movies, flies and makes donuts? A new Mac Mini media center that does everything TiVO does plus some? Or was Jobs going to say Apple would buy Disney, making Steve Jobs into iGod? Nothing quite that wild, but still cool. My introduction to computers came in 1981 or so, when a forward-thinking second grade teacher plopped me down in front of an Apple II+ and taught me how to program it in BASIC. One of the many reasons we use Macs is that they're pretty much immune to viruses. Maybe not so much any more. A malicious computer worm has been found that targets Apple Computer Inc.'s Mac OS X operating system, believed to be the first such virus aimed specifically at the Mac platform. Apparently it comes through iChat as a file called "latestpics.tgz." So be careful out there.

Howdy, MacHeads! I'd like to take this first post to discuss a bit about what I hope to accomplish with Macs for Business, and invite you to let me know what you'd like to accomplish. Here's the point: Macs are just as good as -- if not better than -- any Wintel machine for running a business. And we're going to prove it. We're not going to chit-chat about making baby picture slide shows on iMovie. We're going to try really, really hard never to mention the iPod. This is a business blog.
