The Mac rumor mill has been buzzing for days. What would Steve Jobs announce today? A new magic iPod that plays movies, flies and makes donuts? A new Mac Mini media center that does everything TiVO does plus some? Or was Jobs going to say Apple would buy Disney, making Steve Jobs into iGod?

Nothing quite that wild, but still cool. Not much for business, unless your business is media. The gyst is that the new Mac Minis - with gigibyte ethernet , FireWireand two more USB 2.0 ports for $699 - will ...<div class="feedflare">

My introduction to computers came in 1981 or so, when a forward-thinking second grade teacher plopped me down in front of an Apple II+ and taught me how to program it in BASIC. Over the next few years, I occasionally encountered a DOS computer, only to be befuddled and confused. It was clear to me even then, at ten or eleven years of age, that IBM/Microsoft computers were for tech-heads, and Apple computers were for the rest of us.

And despite claims to the contrary, I never found anything a ...<div class="feedflare">

Worm warning

One of the many reasons we use Macs is that they're pretty much immune to viruses.

Maybe not so much any more.

A malicious computer worm has been found that targets Apple Computer Inc.'s Mac OS X operating system, believed to be the first such virus aimed specifically at the Mac platform.

Apparently it comes through iChat as a file called "latestpics.tgz."

So be careful out there.<div class="feedflare">

Howdy, MacHeads!

I'd like to take this first post to discuss a bit about what I hope to accomplish with Macs for Business, and invite you to let me know what you'd like to accomplish.

Here's the point: Macs are just as good as -- if not better than -- any Wintel machine for running a business. And we're going to prove it.

We're not going to chit-chat about making baby picture slide shows on iMovie. We're going to try really, really hard never to mention the iPod. This is a business blog.<div class="feedflare">
